Case Study

Hardening of an embedded system at hardware level:
An investigation into compliance issues has shown that the hardware platform does not meet future security requirements and has a variety of other vulnerabilities. Among other things, there are brown-out scenarios (voltage glitch) that allow the target system to be hacked.
An analysis was carried out for the client in order to create a secure operating environment based on the existing board using a new CPU, MCU and memory and to fulfill performance reserves for the application and future security requirements such as R.E.D. and CRA.
No changes had to be made to the PCBs themselves, only the chips were replaced with larger memories and successor models of the processor
